2017 Mas de Subirà

TASTING NOTES:

View: The 2017 Mas de Subirà has color intense and bright cherry.
Nose: Aromas of ripe red and black fruit accompanied by mineral notes.
Mouth: It presents a fresh and balanced input. They impregnate their structured tannins on the palate.
APPELLATION: Priorat

VINEYARD: Morlanda. The vineyards are located in the municipality of Tarragona. Priorat vines are planted between 100 to 750 meters in the highest parts of the Morera Montsant and Porrera. Farms coexist in a wide variety of soils that adds complexity to the wine: licorella soils, clayey and calcareous red land. Cultivated varieties are adapted the soil and climate of much of the Priorat.

GRAPES: Grenache, Carignan and Cabernet Sauvignon

AGING: It was aged for 12 months in French oak barrels (300 liters).

PREPARATION: The harvest of selected plots began in the third week of September. All the grapes from the winery farms were collected in small boxes of 18 kg. They were subsequently stemmed and crushed in the cellar. The fermentation was performed at controlled temperature, after inoculating yeast. During the fermentation tanks are tasted daily by the winemaker to decide what is most appropriate for each style of wine and estimate the rearing period required in order to extract its essence.

PAIRING: Red meats, game, dishes with a bitter taste and strong cheeses.
