A classic of the Saint-Estèphe appellation! Created in 1986, Frank Phélan, the second wine from the Château Phélan Ségur owes its name to the son of the winery's founder. This wine, which comes from its own native terroir, is characterised by power and balance. The wine is made from fruit from the estate's old-vine plots, with the addition of fruit from plots whose vines are still too young to contribute to the blend for the main wine. Although it is the Château Phélan Ségur's second wine, this Frank Phélan can hold its head up high next to its big sibling. An intriguing, deep appearance introduces a very elegant nose framed by red fruits, dark fruits and spices. On the palate, the indulgent texture edges us towards a long and complex finish. This is quite simply one of the best second wines of Saint-Estèphe! Harmonious and its finish very aromatic and persistent. Perfectly managed tannic structure and the richness of flavuors.
