Château Pape-Clément Rouge is a harmonious and smooth wine whose expressive nose precedes a mouth of good concentration. It is one of the great references of Pessac-Léognan. This blend dominated by Cabernet Sauvignon is aged for 18 to 20 months in new barrels. It owes its name to its first owner who became Pope in 1305.

The 2021 Pape Clément exhibits notions of sweet berries and cherries mingled with rich aromas of espresso roast, black truffles, toasty new oak and loamy soil. Medium to full-bodied, deep and quite extracted in style, it's a rich, fleshy wine that gained in integration and harmony over the three weeks I spent in Bordeaux. Tested three times. - WK 04/2022
