Pierre-Vincent Girardin, thirteenth generation of a storied Meursault winemaking family, crafts this Volnay Premier Cru from Clos des Champans, one of the appellation's most celebrated Pinot Noir vineyards. Farmed organically, the fruit undergoes gentle destemming with a measured proportion of whole clusters before ageing in French oak. The result is a wine of ruby-garnet hue, its nose lifted with red cherry, redcurrant and violet, layered with warm spice. On the palate, silky tannins and bright acidity carry ripe cherry and pomegranate fruit through to a long, mineral-tinged finish.
