Aroma:oranges and walnut Palate: Again a sweet start, moving on to marzipan and then sour fruit, green apple and cinnamon. There’s also vanilla, dry wood and some of the bananas from the nose. Glenmorangie’s famous Quinta Ruban has been re-released, now as a 14 year old instead of the previous 12 years. Like others in the range, this whisky starts its life maturing in ex-bourbon casks from America, before a final maturing to ‘finish’ the whisky in big port casks. The aroma starts rich with Turkish delight, citrus and honeysuckle, moving to a mouth filling flavour of chocolate, oranges again and a deep, fruity & spiced finish.
