Bushmills 12 Year Old marks the next chapter for its core range, replacing the 10 Year Old as the distillery’s new entry-point single malt in the UK. Triple distilled, it spends its maturation in a combination of bourbon barrels and oloroso sherry butts before a finishing spell in Marsala wine casks from Sicily. This richer, rounder style layers dried fruit and gentle spice over Bushmills’ signature fruit-forward spirit. Bottled at 40% ABV, it is polished, accessible, and very moreish.
TASTING NOTES
NOSE: Honey and dried apricot, red apple, brown sugar, sherried spice and caramel.
PALATE: Silky and sweet with candied apple, honey, caramel, roasted nuts, raisins and gingerbread, with soft tropical fruit in the background.
FINISH: Orchard fruit, toffee and nutty sweetness with a lingering sweet-salty note.
