The 2024 Puligny-Montrachet Les Pucelles 1er Cru has a backward nose that opens nicely in the glass, with scents of shucked oyster shell and wet pavement mixed with malic, appley notes. I would have liked more vigour. The palate is well balanced with a fresh line of acidity, sapid and marine influenced with a touch of spice on the finish; this feels like a capable Les Pucelles, albeit one that deserves two or three years in bottle.
